WEEK 1: April 2nd - April 6th

Peace Week
Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

gas station

[Oh, grand, someone's spilling gasoline, from that smell - so of course Eric's going to go over and investigate...

And blink at that question. Well, he's decidedly out of his own element, and it pays to be amicable when you're still not armed.

I think it's something like a charge plate or a charge coin. At least, that's how everyone seems to be using them who knew straightaway what they were.

[Thankfully, Moloch stops spilling gasoline, having verified what the pump is for]

I thought it was some sort of ID, that everyone in the stores took them and immediately knew who we were.

[Debit cards, keycards, that kind of thing are unknown for him]

[Good, he's sensible. Relieved, Eric shrugs.]

Well, it's the same principle. It's usually fancier hotels that have such things where I'm from, you show it to a cashier somewhere in town and they charge the hotel for whatever you bought, and the cost gets added on to your room. Though our... host explained things a bit differently, I guess it's really no different.

Are you saying this little card holds money?

[Huh. That's neat. Moloch turns the card with his fingers, examining every inch of it. He has no idea how it works -- plastic is all he finds]

Sounds convenient.

It usually is. Some places charge interest on what you use these things for, but it's nothing terrible so long as you pay your debts quickly. And to say it's a substitute for carrying money might be closer, but the difference doesn't matter.

[It's kind of refreshing to be the one who knows how something here works, as opposed to the past couple of days of being constantly set just off-balance by the small differences from what he's used to.]

Can't we take some of money out of this? We can't give this card to anyone and tell them we're buying their vehicle.

[Well, they could and that person would get a lot of profit, but yeah. Bad decision, that'd be]
