Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!
If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.
It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!
This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

Now it's time to focus on more important stuff like...what now?
Diner]
Did you notice this town is rather lacking in...I dunno...machines?
[Technology, he means. It looks very normal. The small towns are usually under control of a powerful spark or a family who uses them as guinea pigs, and the bigger cities are well taken care of by their administrators and receive all sorts of benefits through technology. Cartesio seems to fit neither of these categories]
The most I have seen are those vehicles, those with four wheels, but they don't seem that impressive.
[Later, he explores the gas station. He's checking the pumps, and managed to spill a bit on the ground. Fuel, hm...for the vehicles he saw earlier, most likely. Interesting. When someone approaches he takes out something he hasn't deciphered yet:]
Do you know what's this for?
[It's the debit card]

And blink at that question. Well, he's decidedly out of his own element, and it pays to be amicable when you're still not armed.]
I think it's something like a charge plate or a charge coin. At least, that's how everyone seems to be using them who knew straightaway what they were.

I thought it was some sort of ID, that everyone in the stores took them and immediately knew who we were.
[Debit cards, keycards, that kind of thing are unknown for him]

Well, it's the same principle. It's usually fancier hotels that have such things where I'm from, you show it to a cashier somewhere in town and they charge the hotel for whatever you bought, and the cost gets added on to your room. Though our... host explained things a bit differently, I guess it's really no different.

[Huh. That's neat. Moloch turns the card with his fingers, examining every inch of it. He has no idea how it works -- plastic is all he finds]
Sounds convenient.

[It's kind of refreshing to be the one who knows how something here works, as opposed to the past couple of days of being constantly set just off-balance by the small differences from what he's used to.]

[Well, they could and that person would get a lot of profit, but yeah. Bad decision, that'd be]
