Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!
If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.
It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!
This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

Come on in, the water's fine! It's a lovely morning for swimming!
[Well, anyway, after he's done with that, he's going to head back to the motel and sit down in the lounge with a cup of coffee that he's absently adding far too many sugar cubes to as he reads the morning paper.]
Well, I hope it's not too cold around the pond tomorrow, at the very least. That would be unfortunate!
[NPC interaction, but open to any PCs who wants to hit up the police station!]
[Well, like, he is a cop, so he's going to head to the precinct to chat everyone up! Why not? He might as well, hahaha! He does spend just a little too long looking at that electric chair, though...]
Seems a bit odd to have it right in the station, honestly. Don't they save that for the state penitentiary?

O-Oh, is it not as cold as it looks? But where'd you get the swimsuit...?

[That was almost a risky question. Gotta deflect! Besides, he probably just meant a spare outfit, like the suit dress she's wearing.]
Weeeell, maybe I can just put my legs in for a bit. It does look a bit pleasant!
[She's already pulling off her heels, which leave her legs bare. Convenient for this situation. She hops a bit after taking the one shoe off to get the other one off and looks for some kind of rock to take a seat on at the edge.]

[SHE PROBABLY DIDN'T WANT THAT CONFIRMATION...]
And it is! Hopefully it doesn't get too much colder during our stay, though. At a certain point it's a little too much even for me.

[THIS IS FINE....................
She's testing the water with a toe now, having found a good spot.]
At least you probably won't have to worry about that so much, since we're out in the desert and all! I'm not really used to this climate...
[So the coolness is refreshing enough to invoke a nice sigh when she finally does sit down and sink her legs in to the knees.]

[He's just treading water at this point, because being in the water is fun in and of itself.]
Still, as long as you stick to the shade and wear sunscreen, it should be fine!

That thing? If it worked, yeah. It's more for show. Non-functional.

Oh, so it's more of a museum piece, then?

But really, I'm glad to see I'm not vacationing in the old west.

Not one bit, sir. We're a town with principles, after all.

Things Wayne is currently seeing - Some old guy in a speedo.
He's just pulling the worst face now. His nose crinkling up and everything. Some how it gets even worse at the comment.]
Y-You crazy bastard! They'll arrest you for being like that!
[He's just going to splutter from the shore. Public exposure is a thing right.]

Is there a law against swimming in the morning...? I don't believe I was made aware of one.

[Would Leo wear a speedo? Maybe...And Wayne cringes and regrets the sentence almost immediately. ]

That's not a swimsuit. I'm not sure what it is but it's not a swimsuit.

I'd argue with you, but honestly, it's kind of true.
