Welcome Party

Though you've never seen the casino before, it is easy to find today. This is partly attributable to the music spilling from open doors right into the town. The people of Cartesio have made good on their announcement - doubtlessly, there is a party going on here.

Anyone entering will be confronted with a friendly citizen pulling them aside to inform them of their dress rental service. Though it is called 'rental' there is no actual fee to be paid. The townspeople have simply brought a collection of suits and cocktail dresses into the casino foyer and they are offering to lend them out for the occasion. A folding screen to get changed behind is provided as well.

Once you venture deeper into the casino, you'll find yourself in a surprisingly spacious room. Tables that might normally occupy the open space have been pushed to the wall and filled with various buffet foods. Though you might be tempted to spend your whole afternoon trying out the various local specialties, the rhythmic music from the speakers tries to lure you to the dancefloor. A few locals are already swinging their hips to the beat.

Though if you're simply looking for the main highlight of a casino, you won't have to look long either. Across from the buffet, you will find a wide variety of game machines. Pachinko, slot machines.... even a few odd-one-out games that look like they should rather belong in an arcade. Try your luck, try your skill! If you prove successful, an employee is waiting to hand out various fun goods to you.

There are quite a few townspeople in attendance on this party, but there is a silent understanding that you tourists are the VIPs here. Anywhere you go, any game you want to try, the citizens are quick to move aside for you and let you have the maximum amount of fun.

[ Guess who did actually dress up using the rental service. He's over at the buffet snagging a plate. ]

[ Games ]

[ Let's try playing the pachinko machine! Once he hits the thing, he hits the thing, he watches as the ball roll down a path and fail to hit any of the goals. ]

Huh? Is that all it really does?

[ He'll give it a few more times after this because he's trying to figure out what's the deal.

Later, he'll move on to the slots. They are a lot more his speed with the lights and actually knowing what is going on. ]

[ Likewise dressed in a suit, Bolin's grabbing his own plate as he looks over the food. ]

There's so much, I don't know where to start.

The meat. Meat is always a good place to start, yo.

[ Maybe meat on meat action? He heads over to the meat section to start grabbing some of the steak. ]

Makes me wish I had more than two hands, you know?

A man who understands, yes!

[ Meat on top of meat on top of meat. Joining him and grabbing ribs ]

It's just a matter of figuring out how to properly plate your food.

[ Being strategic about food isn't allowed and should be banned. So he'll just fit things where they seem like they could go. Let's balance these bratwurst sausage things on the side.

He is squinting at the words, and thankfully they are big enough that he can figure it out. ]

[It's so flavorful! And heaps above the diner food, but Moloch doesn't say that part because that'd be rude]

[ He's heading for meat first, picking up some rolls on his way there. ]

Definitely beats food from Akademia.

[ Oh wow, there's like tiny monster claws? How do you even... ]

[Moloch sure is going to give that a try. It's food!] Look at this, this is rich people food! Rich people eat these legs, like they're chips -- or so I have heard.

What the hell? These don't look like chips.

[ Nine is used to the snack kind of crispy chips. He will pick a couple of them up though and look around for the meat on it. ]

Man, for rich people food, it doesn't have a whole lot of meat. Unless you're supposed to eat the outside?

[ Doesn't look edible. ]

I think you have to crack the outside and then...eat what's inside? [He grabs one of the legs] I hope we don't have to suck to get the meat out.

Seems like a lot of work for something so small, hey.

[ He will put his plate down, and then snag one to crack it open there. Just going to sample it there like some people who kick jukeboxes might. ]

Whoa. That's actually good.

[ Yeah, let's add rich people's difficult food on to the plate. As well as some shrimp ]

I'm a bit skeptical about the concept of gambling if we're given an unlimited amount of money to use...there's no negative consequences.

[ Says she in a dress less fancy than her usual attire, wow.

[ Turning in his seat to look at her. ]

That's all you have to do? These must be for those not wanting to bother with cards, but...

[ Well. It's a really simple machine for the Ye Oldes to operate.

She pulls the lever twice. Her canon luck stat is really good--

...and evidently that translates to slot machines. Ding ding ding. ]

[ Hey, he's sitting down. ]

[ wanna see his deck. He does watch the things spin and the lights flash as they won. ]

See? It's definitely all you. [ He catches the dancing from the corner of his eyes ]

Speaking of winning, do you want to dance?

[ Nodding at the dance floor. Look, he's not asking for a private show. ]

This is much more flashy than the lottery at home, I'm noticing.

That means thinking ahead, yo. I'm the kind of guy that just jumps in without planning.

Well, yes, but it's still based on luck, you know. And even then, it's kind of a shame that they're just doing the really simple kind, because I've heard these things can get really flashy.

I think there's some sort of video that plays while the ball's falling down, and repeated wins let you watch more? I could be wrong, though. It's apparently pretty popular overseas, but I haven't played that style of pachinko myself.
