Fourth Week

A second murder shook the town of Cartesio. Clarisse's ambush plan ended with Katsuki Bakugou's death. Now what?

Nothing to be done other than continuing their life and watch what happens. After two weeks, after the deaths they have seen, it's hard to think there's a way out. The only option is to wait for the right chance to turn the tables and see a weak point in the Sergeant's plans -- and hopefully not see any murders.

The townspeople's attitude towards the tourists soured even more. The destruction of the church was much worse than anything they had seen so far, and they ran out of patience. People who in the past were nice and wanted nothing more than to make the tourists happy now aren't afraid of saying to their faces what's what. Random pedestrians shout at the visitors, telling them to stop being criminals. Although there are a few who have more patience than the rest, general opinion is clear:

The tourists are nuisances, to say the least.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

I wouldn't be so sure that people around here really stay dead. If it's anything like home, all the assholes keep kicking around. [A beat.] Pretty certain Nine was making weird comments about my mom again yesterday at the diner. Meaning all this crap [Gesturing at the wall with the sword.] is probably Clarisse's way of saying hi.

You're not afraid of Clarisse, are you?

[Listen, Keet. She likes you a lot, but you haven't exactly proven yourself smart, here.]

...You have a point, there. I think... Bakky might've been there, too. The second song, what was it... "Hot Stuff?" That's what Nine always called Bakky, I think. And then it brought up "Hawks..."

[To the question of being scared of Clarisse, she scoffs.]

Please. I killed her once, I can totally do it again. 'Specially now with Lammy!

But honestly, it's kinda comfier rooming with Oda and Dazai, anyway.

[Look. Keith has His Way of doing things. Just like you have Your Way of doing things. It's fine!

But also that's getting a bit of a smirk.]

[Okay, but consider: one of them has gone to jail, and it's not Millium.

[He is, under no circumstances, actually going to hand hold.]

Look. The dead already decided to pick on us. We're not gonna let them push us around.

I mean, if you're offering.

[She's pretty sure he's not, but, you know. She likes physical affection!]

No, no. You don't get what I'm saying. Yeah, go ahead and mess with Clarisse, but like... what if there's more than just their spirits?

[You know. Attached to his arm. Which is attached to his body. Located inside the scary haunted room that heis pretty sure Milium is not going to enter.]

What else do you think is there?

Like, actual ghosts! Scary ones!

You think ghosts are going to leave you alone if you act all scared around them?

I think I'd just rather not get near 'em!

[Seeing as they're being targetted in particular??]

No, but I've seen zombies.

Mgh... maybe if I stay out of the absolutely haunted places, I'll be safer!

And I have! They're scary and see through and the one nearly killed us!

Ok. I'm sure that was real freaky and all, but if these ghosts wanted to kill us, don't you think they'd have done that already?

[Raised eyebrow.]

What was stopping them from just stabbing us while we were sleeping?

...Feeding off of fear and sadness?

So stop feeding them, Milium.

[What a simple solution, gosh.]

Easy for you to say when you're not scared of them...!

What if you being scared is just making them stronger.

[He seriously doubts this mind you, but if she's going to be irrationally afraid, this is what she gets. It is the natural conclusion of her own reasoning and all.]

You can't just magically stop bein' scared of things! That's not how that works, Keet!

You may not be able to magically stop being scared, but that doesn't mean you can't start being brave whenever you decide to.

[It's what Hunk does, isn't it? But once the kinda-sorta encouragement is out of the way, it's back to his usual scheduled grumping.]

And stop mesing around with my name.

[doublelammy]

...Fine.

[Tentatively, she steps into the room.

...Okay. She's not dead. Yet. She continues over toward Keith.]

It's a term of endearment. [That's a no.]

[He's making a face at her, muttering:]

[God that'd be weird. Krolia coming up with pet names. It'd been weird enough finding out she wanted to name him :Yurak." Back to the point though:]

See? Nothing bad happened. Don't you feel a little less scared now?

Well, maybe your mom should just get good.

[Looks like she's not budging on this, Keet.]

...I guess. But if somethin' pops up outta nowhere you're on your own, 'cause I'm outta here.

[marmoron]

[You know what, he's going to try this new awesome strategy of ignoring it and seeing it it'll get boring and she'll stop calling him Keet of her own accord!! Hrmph.]

Leaving me to die alone, huh.

Listen, it's not my fault if you don't run fast enough.
