Week 4: Investigation

A late frost has settled over Cartesio. Ice clings to the grass, to the variety show stage, not yet melted by the sun. How could it be, as it's yet to rise Friday morning?

It is only technically Friday, as the planned variety show reaches into its very final hour. Nearly everything on the schedule's been completed, and the cleanup process has begun.

That's probably why no one expects it, not now. Not this early. It's hard to miss, whether you're attending the show or getting some rest. After all, the sound, it comes from somewhere close to the motel. Somewhere close to the show.

Three gun shots ring out at one in the morning, echoing through the park. Something has gone very wrong.

PHARMACY

[tuffguy]

[ Bolin couldn't stay in the park that much longer, so he's just going to wander around and eventually find himself at the Pharmacy. He's looking around the front, trying to see if anything is out of place here at the start. ]

[cartesio]

[ If he's looking outside, he'll definitely find something, namely...footprints. ]

[tuffguy]

[ What are the footprints in? Dirt or frost? And are they leading somewhere? ]

[cartesio]

[ They're kind of in both? The frost's over everything, so it's sort of that dirt-frost you get, when winter doesn't know when to quit.

As for direction, you'll find they're actually leading both to and from the pharmacy! ]

[tuffguy]

[ well. ok. bolin isn't going to mess with those footprints too much since he doesn't want to fuck with them

instead he's going to carefully step over them to not disturb them and look into the pharmacy and see what's going on in there ]

[cartesio]

[ He'll find not much off, aside from the display Keith's looking at. Maybe there's something around that area? ]

[tuffguy]

[ well, he'll look around that area, to see what sort of medicine is there ]

[cartesio]

[ ...It's poison. ]

[tuffguy]

[ Eventually, he'll work his way back outside. The footprints lead away from the pharmacy, in what direction are they going?

[cartesio]

[ Toward the park. ]

[tuffguy]

So whoever came here headed towards the park afterwards, huh?

[ taking another look outside, to see if anything else might be off ]

[marmoron]

[Alright. He's here with a wolf. Ignoring any and all weird looks he might be getting for bringing a wolf to the pharmacy.

Anything immediately up with the place?]

[cartesio]

[ What stands out immediately is a toppled display, on one of the counters. How rude, no one picked up after knocking something over? ]

[marmoron]

[Great. Let's check that toppled display out. Cosmo's sticking close to Keet.

What kind of display is this?]

[cartesio]

[ Medicine to settle your stomach! There doesn't seem to be anything particularly strange about the display or the bottles themselves. ]

[marmoron]

[Huh. Okay. So they probably knocked this over while ... looking for something else? Time to take a look at the rest of the pharmacy. Anything else looking disturbed or out of place?]

[tuffguy]

[ Bolin came in after checking out the outside and sees Keith. He calls out to him ]

Hey! I found some footprints outside, if you have something that can take a picture of them?

[cartesio]

[ Well, he won't really have to look far. It seems there's a missing bottle on the shelf behind the counter. It's in a section of...poisons? Specifically, cyanide.

What a strange thing for a pharmacy to have. ]

[tuffguy]

[ squints. at that........ ]

I'm not to sure what... cyanide [ he totally mispronounced that ] is, but I'm guessing it's not something good. [ gesturing at the rest of the sections ]

[marmoron]

Don't have anything to take pictures with.

[Which is annoying, but....footprints huh.]

We can get measurements.

[As for the missing bottle though:]

Cyanide. It's a pretty strong poison. ...Not sure why this is missing.

[tuffguy]

Measurements is better than nothing.

Poison... you think it could have been used?

[marmoron]

[He'll turn to Cosmo for a moment.]

See if you can track 'em down by scent.

[Let's go investigation doggo~]

If there's anyone here with a camera that you know of, you should go grab them. I'll keep guard just in case the killer comes back to tidy up. [A beat.] I don't know if they used poison. There were gunshots at the park, weren't there? Did you get a good look at the body?

[tuffguy]

Not a good look, no.

But there was blood on the ground and the mouth was frothy.
