Fifth Week

Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.

That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.

During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.

The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

The microwave makes a clicking sound -- the 'POWER' and 'TIME' dials can be moved! And also the plate can be removed, and inside the microwave...

...there's nothing. It's empty. Still, that must have been important in some manner]

We did all that just so we could use it?

Now what.

Metal in microwaves cause sparks, and the recipe says put bacon in, so we could just shove all the food in the bowl and then crank the microwave to full power.

There's bacon in the freezer if we actually need to use bacon.

[Flatly.]

But we're not doing anything like that until we have a way out.

Is there anything else we can use to make sure it catches and lights everything else?

[amburere]

[ Stares flatly. ]

Me.

Are your flames able to burn anything, then?

[Legit question. She's ready to go looking for fabric if we need fuel.]

If we're gonna start a fire, I'm doing it.

[ He's better than a microwave, thx. ]

...I'm going to check the door.

[Who the fuck knows if that's open now that they went through all of that nonsense.]

[Perhaps unsurprisingly, the door remains closed shut. Hm. That's...okay?

Maybe it'll go better once the fire starts]

[Kino will follow a bit... towards the pipes.

Can she tell what kinds of pipes they are? Specifically what they might contain.]

[These are water pipes]

[Greaaaaaaat. He'll just make his way back to the kitchen, looking thoroughly underwhelmed.]

Still locked inside.

Gonna guess it'll open up after we start that fire.

I don't think we have to burn this place down. We can all sleep here and get arrested for breaking and entering in the morning.

Not everyone wants to be arrested. I generally tend to make it a goal to not get arrested, even.

[Hawks job techinically involves being the one to make arrests, even.]

[There seems to be some sort of sensors high on the wall. What they do isn't clear, but they seem to be connected to the doors itself.

Old heat sensors for the air, perhaps?]

[HE'S SO HAPPY he did something useful you all don't understand he's useless.
