WEEK 1: April 2nd - April 6th

Peace Week
Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!

If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.

It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!

This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

[Welcome to the peace week! This week there won't be a murder nor a task. Enjoy the peace while it lasts! If you want to contact the Sergeant, please post here!]

[She gets that impression, yeah.]

Then it's something simple.

[So easy, even Millium can do it.]

After our contest, I'll try it.

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-01 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Wow? Excuse? She's a hyperactive goofball, but she's not an idiot! ...Mostly!]

Ehehe. Okay. I can help you out if you want.

[...Her eyes are starting to get itchy. Nooooo...! Must... fight...!]

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-01 08:01 pm (UTC)(link)
[She might change her mind re: idiocy when she sees Olympia's having no problems keeping her eyes open. Get rekt, Millium.]

Would you? I'd be grateful.
doublelammy: (☆ 21)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-01 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
[Millium is, in fact, rekt. She's 0 for 2 on staring contests, now, and whines appropriately.]

Nooo, not again...! Not fair, not fair~!

[With a heavy sigh, it looks like she's over it, though.]

Okaaaay. I guess you win, even if you're definitely a cheater. But I'm a woman of my word, so I'll still help you.

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-01 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[A victory for Armoroad! Clearly a meaningful one that will define the future of the round.]

How would I cheat at staring?

[She's smiling as she stands up.]
doublelammy: (☆ 14)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-01 09:47 pm (UTC)(link)
By not having to blink.

[Millium responds to that quickly and easily, like it's not something completely ludicrous.

She stands up as well, wandering over to the jukebox and waiting beside it for Olympia.]

Like a champion of suspended animation, since they're in the diner

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-01 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[Olympia takes a moment to consider this, before following her over to the jukebox. What experience does this little girl have with people who don't blink?]

So this plays music.
doublelammy: (☆ 25)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-01 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Millium has experience with a lot of strange things. She doesn't think she's actually seen anyone who doesn't need to blink before now, but it's not something that would strike her as terribly surprising.

When your weirdness scale maxes out on giant robots and that one dude who keeps bursting into flames, not blinking seems pretty mundane.]

Yep. You gotta give it money with your little card thing, then you can poke the buttons and pick a song. It adds it to the list, and then eventually it'll play the song you picked.

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-01 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

[Olympia swipes her card, then gives the buttons a few experimental pokes to see what they do. Satisfied with the results, she starts paging through totally unfamiliar songs, and settles on "Octopus's Garden" as having an interesting-sounding title.]
doublelammy: (☆ 9)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-01 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
[Millium just watches, hands behind her back and rocking on her heels. It seems she doesn't stay still very often.]

"Octopus's Garden," huh? I didn't know they were gardeners.
carbide: (B01F. A glorious journey's start)

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sitting still is for princesses, soldiers, robots, and trees. And Olympias, apparently, but she seems okay with having more active company.]

Neither did I. It must be an underwater garden.
doublelammy: (☆ 38)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
[It's okay, Millium has more than enough energy to make up for the two of them.]

Oooh... I wonder what kinda things grow underwater. I've only really ever been swimming in the school's pool, so I haven't ever gotten to look myself...
carbide: (B01F. A glorious journey's start)

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 03:54 pm (UTC)(link)
There's actually quite a lot of plant life underwater. An octopus would have a lot to grow in a garden. Maybe you'll get to see someday.
doublelammy: (☆ 31)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe.

I dunno, though. I don't think Gramps'll ever have a reason to send me on a mission like that. And even if he did, I dunno how much Lammy likes water...
carbide: (B05F. The silent unknown abyss)

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
[Things Olympia doesn't even slightly question: small girl sent on missions. That's the Etrian Odyssey way too, after all.]

Lammy?
doublelammy: (☆ 2)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 04:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Lammy's my friend. [She's starting to realize she needs to give more of an explanation than that.] He's basically... um... [She squints slightly, trying to remember the word.] a robutt? I think that's what other people keep saying.

[She tried.]

But anyway, yeah. He links up with me and we work together and smash all sortsa stuff. I never go on missions without him.

[A pause.]

'Cept this one, but since Gramps didn't send me on this one, I don't think it counts.

"Airgetlam." That was on your page in the guestbook.

[Fragments of that page may still be on the floor of the lodge.]

That referred to a puppet, though. This "Lammy" sounds like a person.
Edited (Autocorrect: censors my swearing but ignores obvious misspellings.) 2018-10-02 17:05 (UTC)
doublelammy: (☆ 32)

autocorrect is, in fact, the worst

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Lammy.

["Airgetlam" is way too long. How do you expect her to bother with saying all that? Effort. Besides, Lammy is way cuter.

As to Lammy being a person, she shrugs.]

I dunno what he is, really. I just know we're linked and he breaks things when I want 'im to. But I know they've called me the "Silver Puppeteer," back home, so I dunno.

Re: autocorrect is, in fact, the worst

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Oh, that's a little disappointing. ]

Still, it's impressive either way. Robots are advanced technology.
doublelammy: (☆ 5)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Stuff like that... it's way beyond me.

I dunno what all goes into making things like Lammy or me. I don't have to. I just gotta do what Gramps says, and anything else isn't really important.
carbide: (B05F. The silent unknown abyss)

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Making things like you? Are you something unusual?

[What's tact? Sounds like some kind of bird.]
doublelammy: (☆ 51)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[A shrug. It's cool, she doesn't have any of that either.]

I just know I'm built to certain specs and I can link up with Lammy. Past that, I don't think I'm too different from most people here.
carbide: (B02F. Marshlands of misfortune)

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
You're human, then?

[Either way she's clearly the most interesting person here.]
doublelammy: (☆ 23)

[personal profile] doublelammy 2018-10-02 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Basically, yeah. An artificial one, but works out the same.
carbide: (B04F. Bladed ordeal in the muck)

[personal profile] carbide 2018-10-02 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
An artificial human. I never even knew that was possible.

[She's staring again. Sorry?]
