Fifth Week

Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.

That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.

During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.

The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[Dabi's being quite the hero tonight, but don't tell that to him.

His fire will show you're in...some sort of kitchen. It's surprisingly devoid of appliances, but judging by the couple that are here...it's a kitchen.

There's plenty of stuff to find here. You may want others to lend you a hand!]

Hey, Osomatsu, what do you have there? A KNIFE! And very sharp, too]

[oh...? oh... how useful, to have a knife while in the dark. he... probably should leave it where it is...

nah. he's going to take the knife. and hold it properly, so that he doesn't stab people]

I found a knife. [anything else of interest over here?]

A pair of tweezers. Very large tweezers, of the kind to grab large pieces of food]

[You're going to find something right away, Kino. And what a thing it is.

Seems to be a modified microwave. Instead of a door, there's a ceramic plate on it, with some sort of diamond-shape indentation on it. Touching it will reveal it responds to pressure. Looks like you're expected to insert something in it]

Do we... have something diamond shaped? [Or wait.] A square shape.

I’m assuming this is where the bacon goes.

[coming back in here with his treasures! he... he has an idea. it's stupid, but...

does the piece of glass fit into that indentation? it's not square, but maybe other people have more pieces!]

[Well, then, hot on the heels of her unsuccessful breakout attempt, Olympia will follow Kino into the kitchen and start inspecting. There wouldn't happen to be anything cool on the counter, would there?]

[Maybe not cool. It's a bunch of ingredients. Closer examination will reveal they are chili powder, flour, and oranges. There's plenty of each one, too.

Actually? Yes. Olympia takes an orange and starts eating it.

Like an apple, biting right into the peel.]
