week 6, post trial

[robitussin]

[Their numbers keep falling. Three people have died already this week, with two more on the way tomorrow. With the outburst the townspeople gave them once the results came through... If anyone were feeling downhearted, it's to be expected at this point. Things continuing at their current pace is a frightening thought, after all. Like last week, the offer to spend time together or meet in a central location doesn't come.

Hawks and Dabi wait for the morning in their cells, but the rest of the tourists are free to wander about the town as they please; free to rest, to talk with each other, and to try to gather strength wherever they can. So, where does the evening find you, Cartesio?]

[As usual, Natalie doesn't seek many people out after the trial, but... Anyone who passes by the shed near the Sergeant's lodge where she keeps her piano will hear music coming out of the door.

She's engrossed enough that she won't notice anybody coming in.]

[quickpersuader]

[It's not immediate. But eventually Kino makes her way to the shed, watching and listening in silence. It's only when Natalie finishes that, much like last week, the sound of a single person's applause graces the air.]

[robitussin]

[Moving her fingers away from the keys, she glances towards Kino as she hears the sound of applause. The smile she gives is faint, but it's there.]

Thanks.

[relieable]

[it's been no secret that Osomatsu's sort of been... not avoiding Natalie, but he's been giving her some space, since it seemed like she didn't want to talk to him after what he did. they haven't had any long conversations anymore, just short snippets of ones during the trial, or otherwise.

he wonders where her head is at, if she forgives him, or hates him.

he passes by the shed tiredly, hands in his pockets. he's walked to it several times this week hoping to hear her playing, but this is the first time she actually is while he's around.

he is quiet as he approaches, slips inside, then just stays in the back, waiting for her to finish]

[Once it concludes, she still doesn't notice him for a minute or two. She's trying to decide the best thing to play next when she notices him out of the corner of her eye.]

...Oh, hey.

[amburere]

[ In some ways, Dabi has been expecting this for a while now. Maybe not this jail cell or this town, but he's known that an end like this awaited him for months now. Still, he'd much rather have gone out in a literal blaze of glory—then there wouldn't be any time to think and get lost in his head. And there was way too much to think about right now.

He's tired. But the end isn't here yet, and even now he has unfinished business. Dabi is mostly content to sit in silence on the floor of his cell, lighting his hand on fire intermittently. ]

[robitussin]

[As she walks in later on in the evening and sees fire and engulfing his hand, there's a familiar but illogical rush of concern that she can't quite dispel. Still... Whether or not he's going to injure himself hardly matters anymore, does it?

There's only a hesitation of a few moments before she moves close to the cell bars, taking a seat.]

Hey.

[amburere]

Yo. [ For what little it matters, he does put the fire out as she sits down. ]

[marmoron]

[It's much later in the evening by the time Keith shows up here. He's almost certain this is a waste of time and that Dabi isn't going to continue that conversation during the trial, but whatever. He doesn't really stand to lose anything.]

How old were you when you first realized you could set things on fire?

[amburere]

[ Hey there Keith. That surprises him judging by how he tilts his head and blinks, but sure he can answer that. ]

Three. Why?

[icariot]

[It's very late at night when the wall suddenly goes MIA. Hawks is quickly rising to his feet and heading over, caution mostly thrown to the wind.]

Dabi...?

[amburere]

[ The past 24 hours have been full of things he didn't expect, but this is one of the more welcome surprises. There one instant and gone the next, if Dabi had seen Overhaul's quirk he might have thought that's what happened here.

Doesn't matter though, cause he's also not wasting any time in standing up as soon as he realizes what's going on. ]

Hawks. Didn't think the Sarge liked you this much.

[marmoron]

[As usual Keith can be found in the park with the space wolf after the trial. This time the two of them are near the pond where Cosmo is splashing around, snapping at the water with his jaws to try and catch one of the goldfish while Keith sits on the grass a little further back. There's a faintly amused smile as he watches this, but otherwise he's in a fairly solemn mood.]

[quickpersuader]

[It's Kino's turn to approach him this time, pausing to watch Cosmo for a moment before she calls out:]

Hey.

[marmoron]

[Looks over shoulder.]

Hey.

[He only sounds vaguely grumpy really.]

[robitussin]

[She assumed she'd find him here, and while she definitely hesitates before coming to find him, eventually she's walking towards his seat on the grass.]

...Rough one, huh?

[marmoron]

[He turns to look at her, but it's fairly obvious he's feeling about as hesitant as she is.]

Think I'm getting used to it.

[quickpersuader]

[Kino's... around after the trial. She spends some time at the park, primarily, but she'll wander back to the motel after a while. It's easy enough to catch her; she's not particularly avoiding anyone.]

[tuffguy]

[ like last week, bolin is in the park after the trial. he's got a stack of rocks at his side but he's not really. doing anything with them. he's stomping onto the ground and raising one up so it hovers at his side, but then he lets it drop before heaving out a sigh ]

[relieable]

[hm. Bolin is actually someone who Osomatsu seeks out after the trial. he doesn't have a difficult time finding him, finding him at the park, playing with rocks. that's pretty cool! though Bolin doesn't seem too happy.

honestly, that's no surprise. he was just picked to execute someone]

...Yo. [he walks over after Bolin sighs, hands tucked away in his pockets. it's still cold outside]

[tuffguy]

[ He raises the rock again and drops it before looking at Osomatsu. He takes a step away from the pile and weakly offers him a small wave. ]

Hey, Osomatsu.

[clearities]

[ Sakura decides to go outside in the park, turning her small key into a staff with a soft: ] Release! [ Her magic circle appears and it transforms into a large staff. She shouldn't use her cards, but she can't help but twirl it idly around her hands, tossing it in the air like she would a baton as she tries to mull things over in her head. Maybe doing this would at least clear her mind... ]

[icariot]

[Hawks sits quiet in his cell, right in the middle of the floor, one feather twisting between his fingers. His wings curl and uncurl around him, stretching to the limits of this cell. There's nothing threatening about it, and Hawks doesn't even look like he's paying attention to what's around him until someone approaches the bars.]

[robitussin]

[It's later in the evening that she comes in to his cell. Unlike with Dabi, she doesn't take a seat, instead standing a fair distance from the bars and crossing her arms.]

...Hey.

[icariot]

[The caution stings, deep in his chest, but Hawks can't say he didn't deserve it. Natalie owes him nothing, and he has spent months trying to come to terms with how society as a whole will end up viewing him.

No matter how many times he repeats it to himself, he regretfully still doesn't believe it.

A weak smile] Hey. You done visiting Hotshot?
