WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

[Way to go, guys, you're on the hallway!

As mentioned before, there are two places you can go to: the lobby and the locked stairs. Where could your objective be?]

[ Let's head for the lobby. what do they see? ]

[Natalie who has been here the whole time is following after them towards the lobby, wary as she does.]

Anyone else have a bad feeling about this?

I keep expecting that Sarge bastard to pop out of something, you know?

[ Like surprise, he's been watching the whole time ]

[The outside.

Behind large doors of glass.

Near the entrance there's a quaint concession stand, several popcorn machines, a soda fountain, and other assorted candy. Anything you'd wish you had when going to the movies, pretty much]

[So these doors. If Olympia tries to open them, is that gonna work?]

[cartesio]

[The doors creak, but don't open. Whatever locking mechanism these doors have, it's pretty weak. Not only that, the glass is also thin and looks like even a rock could shatter them.

There's a security alarm device on the very top of the doors. Looks like it'll activate as soon as anything happens to these doors]

We should probably do something about that alarm first.

Hey, wait, what are you doing?!

[ putting a hand on her arm and trying to keep her from you know.

[clarisse if you shoot olympia's hand she is going to be really mad at you]

[Olympia looks up at it, then wordlessly reaches up. Can she get a grip on the device or is it embedded deep in the wall or something?]

[I'm assuming the logo isn't painted on the doors or any of the cups/popcorn holders in the concession stand?]

[It's in all the paper cups. Nothing unusual about the cups, though]

[Time to give a better look to this concession stand. Is there anything noticeably unusual about it?]

[There is, indeed.

Most of the cinema is dark, although it's easy to look around, everything is supposed to be off. Despite that, one of the popcorn machines is warm, and has the lights on.

Take a look inside?

[Absolutely. She notices quickly and heads over, glancing to see if there's anything inside it.]

Weird...

[ He'll just be close by in case something shady as fuck happens, but he'll let her take front and center and do the thing. ]

PUZZLE

[Oh, there's a lot inside this.

That's very clearly a key, colored popcorn, and buttons underneath the glass. The screen beside the buttons shows a series of numbers, with the last one blinking, awaiting input. Looks like you're expected to insert a number.

The top of the popcorn machine has a slot for something very thin. A quick look around doesn't show anything that could fit in there]

[Kino and Dazai are checking the terrain beyond the lobby!

There's a sign right before the stairs start. 'Warehouse', it says, pointing down. And indeed, at the end of the downwards stairs there's a door with an ancient-looking padlock. Of the kind only an ancient-looking key would fit]

Ah-hah! Seems we have a lock to get open. I have a feeling we might have to find the proper key to open this~

But I'm sure the others are probably already hard at work on that.
