Week 5: April 29th - May 3rd

Fifth Week

Everything's getting worse. Rose Nylund and Frasier Crane murdered Jughead Jones during the event Jughead worked so hard to organize. Given some of the townspeople were in attendance, it didn't give a good impression -- if the visitors did this when trying to be good people and get along with Cartesio, then how will they behave once they get into destroying everything? The cruel method of Jughead's death also left everyone quite horrified, too.

That may be why it's no surprise the town's quiet unrest is slowly turning into real, tangible fury.

During the week, from time to time stones break some of the windows of the motel, looking outside shows a random passerby running away. Graffiti is left on the walls: 'SEE IF YOU LIKE THIS' 'MURDERERS' 'YOU'RE GOING TO DESTROY US ALL', and other similar messages. Some of the store owners hesitate when the visitors approach, but they don't refuse service because money is always nice.

The Sergeant's pervasive influence is starting to cover not only you, but also the entire town of Cartesio. After all, everything that's happening to you and the motel? It's the result of what you and the other visitors have done.

In the lobby of the motel there's a few more brochures, and the maps have been updated once again.

[ He'll be able to find...well, something. It kind of feels like a door, but it will not open. Not one bit. ]

[Great so it might be a door that's stuck? Time to give it a kick to see if that gets him anywhere. It's a bit of a forceful kick since he's thinking it's time to break down a door.]

[Time to be more delicate then. He'll put his hands on the maybe-door and try to feel out what it is.]

[It's a large door, made of what seems to be glass. Through it, everything is dark. You can't even see further than a couple inches of sidewalk.

This is freaky no matter how you look at it. Unfortunately, Keith, there seems to be no way out of this building]

Everyone.

[Even if he can't see y'all, he can hear you just fine. You're all out there in the fog.]

I found the door. Might have to shoot our way out.

[Going to very carefully feel for any hinges/vulnerable points they could try to take out and also try to feel if there's a place to put a key in to unlock it or something.]

[It's almost like the door of a safe, Keith. A perfect expanse of smooth glass, unusually thick, with not even a lock.

You may as well be staring into a brick wall, for as much good as shooting at it would do. Welp]

[Oh.

Kino just nods, and there's a click as she draws her own revolver.]

We can do that.

Wait.

[Oh good Olympia's here to be the voice of reason.]

If I can force it open, that will be quieter.

[Sort of reason. Reason-ish.]

Wait! [He actually raises his voice quite a bit.] Let Gerard try to break through it first! If the bullets can't pierce it, they'll probably rebound and hit one of us.

[And he will direct Gerard towards that door to try and smash it.]

[ Have you ever seen a cat run into a glass door?

That's kind of what happens here. Sorry, Gerard. ]

Gerard! [Well that didn't work out. Franciscus is going to hurry over to comfort him anyways.] It's okay...you did the best you could...

[.../sad trombone??? Gerard's getting a sympathetic look.]

Alright. Anyone else have a bright idea here?

[On the bright side, at least he's less keen onthe idea of shooting their way out...]

Figure out how we're supposed to burn the place down but still get out alive?

Door's not an option.Are there any windows around? Vents we can crawl through to get to the outside?

[Keith's going to keep walking along the wall, both hands feeling for any other potential escape route. Anything else that they might find this way??]

[And Kino will start feeling her way down in the opposite direction!]

[ Kino will, after some feeling, found another door--though not one to the outside. It's a smaller one, that if put pressure on will swing. ]

[ Just the reinforced windows that Oda and Niwa found earlier. ]

Does anyone know how tall the ceiling is?

Tall enough that I could fly and not kick people accidentally, but not exceptionally tall. Close to an average building I’d say.

Let me try.

[Olympia backs away a bit, then gets a running start and tries to punch through the door. Will metal hands turn out to be the crucial difference?]

[ Unfortunately, nope. It'll just vibrate a little...but no sign of anything breaking or opening. ]

This is exceptionally sturdy.

Where are we that this place needs to be this sturdy?
