Sunday must have been exhausting for you, maybe even upsetting. A new town, new faces and a an ominous order from a man without a face... who wouldn't be a little frightened? Hopefully, all of that is forgotten when you climb out from under your blankets this fine Monday. Rise and shine! A new morning is a new start!
If you make your way to the lounge, you will find a few copies of the local newspaper provided for your perusal. Once you go outdoors, you'll find the weather forecast 100% accurate. It's pretty impressive.
It seems that quiet mornings like this are going to be your everyday life now. Maybe you should see this whole stay as a vacation? Go out and explore the town, meet your fellow motel guests and meet the townspeople. They're sure to welcome you with a smile!
This week's special in the diner is lemon pie made with love (and a top-secret recipe)

monday meeting | cw: dismemberment mentions
She already has some paper and a pen that she used from the last time, so she's absolutely prepared, to say the least, as she writes down notes before sliding them down underneath everyone's motel rooms early in the morning. Naturally, if they're not around, she'll seek them out and ask them to meet at the diner at twelve in the afternoon.
Sakura seems really determined to make this work. Nevertheless, the note reads, in a neat font that matches a child's: ]
I'd like for all of us to be on the same page.
The things that happened before April 1st - I'll tell everyone all about it at twelve o'clock in the afternoon, at the diner. You don't have to come if you don't want to, but I'll do my best to help out regardless.
❀ Kinomoto Sakura
[ And later that afternoon, as promised, she goes ahead and makes the decision to talk to everyone at the diner. Of course, she's not that great of a public speaker, but if this could possibly help everyone out, then...
She'll do it. ]
Thank you everyone for coming. [ She bows from the waist down, politely as ever. ] Like I promised, I plan on talking about this place. And... what happened before. On March 28th, a different group of people showed up. There were twenty-two of us. The only ones that are here now that were from that group were Millium-chan and Wayne-san. On the calendar, it said to meet the sergeant at the lodge at 9 AM, and there was also a circle around March 31st, with the word 'END', written on it.
When we all met Sergeant-san, [ because yeah, even if she doesn't like him much, he's still getting an honorific ] he told us... "you have been brought here for a reason: to show you're worth keeping alive". And he said that he wanted one person to die, and that he didn't care who it was-- only that if nobody was killed, then he would probably kill all of us. He didn't really explain why we were all here, or why it had to be done, just that it did.
The next day, um... there was a newspaper-- apparently it mentioned sharks and tourism? And it talked about us and how we were welcome here, in this town. It doesn't say anything too important, but I thought that maybe you guys would want to read it. Sergeant-san also called us back to the lodge, where he met all of us outside and told us that he has them inside the lodge. But he also said that we could get them back... if we did some vandalism and thievery. I decided not to do it myself, of course. It's wrong, after all.
[ As for whether other people did it, however... well. ]
On the 30th, there seemed to be a fire that happened in the town. A bunch of us went to grab some fire extinguishers from the fire station and attempt to stop the fire-- it took a while for the actual firefighters to come, but they eventually did. And sensei... [ When she says that single word, 'sensei', her expression seems to drop slightly and her emerald green eyes lower for a moment. ] He also tried to help organize the citizens to help stop the fire by dousing it in water.
[ Once she's done saying that, she raises her head once again. ]
Apparently, some of the others found a liquid that left a long trail around the motel and park-- there were even wires in the streets that were melted by the fire. People said that it was probably gasoline and that the fire itself... was probably done intentionally, by someone. I don't want to believe it, but-- it might have been possibly done by someone in our group, too.
[ Sakura then swallows hard, because this is the difficult part to talk about. People will notice that her hands are noticeably shaking as she brings it into her chest, her eyes closed tight for a moment. ]
On the 31st... we found Lovepon-san, dead. She was... [...] At the park-- it was just her head. Then-- then--
[ She's obviously struggling. Her eyes are wet with obvious tears, but she has to power through. She wants to. ]
... Sergeant-san showed up, and he asked us to investigate, to gather as much information for the trial and then meet him at the courtoom in two hours. At the trial, the rest of us had to figure out who killed Lovepon-san. We found out who killed her, but in the end he... Seregeant-san... executed Lovepon-san's killer. He killed Mira-san.
And then, later at the end of the week, at noon, we were to meet him at the police station and I think he knocked us out. There was some sort of electric shock to the back of my neck, I think.
When I woke up though, he told me not to tell any of you guys this. I don't know why he decided to do it, but he said... that if I went against the rule, that it would be fatal for me. I think that's all I can share on my end, anyway. I don't know how useful this information will be to everyone, but... I wanted to do what only I could do. I want to help everyone here. I don't want a repeat of those four days.

Did he also execute Mira by electric shock? I suppose we should assume he can do that again to you three at the very least.
no subject
Yeah, he did, but it wasn't with a taser or anything like that.
He put her in the electric chair and fried her like an egg.
[All of that is said completely calmly, with her hands behind her head like it's casual conversation.]

Can you tell us what the investigation and trial were like?
now on the right account
There were police cars designated in the areas that we were meant to investigate. I didn't really investigate much, but I followed a squirrel-san and found a bullet. As for the trial... we talked about the evidence and compared it against each other.
We also did body checks, weapon checks, and footprint checks, too and had to vote for who we thought the culprit was. We got it right at least, but I think we just got lucky.

Thanks for telling us. [ he hesitates. how the hell can he comfort someone that's gone through all of that? ] I'm guessing that that's what he wants to do again. He wants us to work for him to do these sort of things.

secondary issues
I have a question for all of you gathered here, as well. How many of you know what Pokemon are? Also, what year do you remember it being?
no subject
[ She's definitely unfamiliar with it, which is made obvious as she cants her head to the side, giving him a rather quizzical look. ]
It was also 20XX [ because hell if I know what year Cardcaptor Sakura is actually in ] last I remember it. And it wasn't April back at home.
