WEEK 2: April 8th - April 12th

Second Week

Seven days have passed. Quite peaceful days, almost too peaceful. The town has welcomed you, excited to see tourists for the first time in many, many, many years. Some may have liked the peace, others may have been annoyed by it, but it was undeniable Cartesio seemed like such a nice and safe place it was hard to believe you had been told to kill each other.

But the threat is still up in the air. What's more: how much patience does the Sergeant have left?

Every time you take a look into the Lodge, you see the Sergeant. Lately he's looking more and more annoyed. Even though you can't see his face, you can feel he's getting frustrated. How long will it be before he lashes out and does something about these peaceful days?

Nobody in the town could suspect the harrowing times that'd befall Cartesio.

When you wake up on Sunday, you'll find new maps in the map rack and brochures on the table, showing places you hadn't noticed in the town before. Enjoy!

What the hell?!?

[ He's jumping up and spilling the popcorn all over the floor. Whoops. ]

How did I even get here?

[ He...doesn't remember going here. He knows he's been lost and also has forgot to keep track of where he was... but nothing like this. ]

[quickpersuader]

[Kino peers at the screen with a mild mix of annoyance and confusion, pulling up the bowl for a quick sniff. Everything normal? Well, probably doesn't matter, Kino has other things to attend to.

Other things like calmly standing up and turning to look at the projector room window. The revolver is still holstered to the side, and the pistol to the back, grip facing upwards.]

[cartesio]

[It's so buttery, this popcorn. Going to the cinema in Cartesio is bound to fill your arteries with three pounds of cholesterol.

The projector room window above you is wide open, nothing's blocking it. It doesn't seem like there's anyone up there -- or at least nobody's approaching the window. Everything is silent, except for the noise of the static]

[burgerprince]

[Jughead's following your look, Kino. He's at least familiar with the setup of a movie theatre. He gives a quick look to the gun.]

Don't shoot the projector.

[quickpersuader]

I wasn't planning on it.

[Kino is just perpetually armed is all. Cautiously, Kino exits the aisle to head up to the projector room, always keeping the right hand free - just in case.]

[burgerprince]

Just making sure.

[He follows Kino because that's not a half bad idea.]

[cartesio]

[The carpet muffles the steps, soon Kino reaches the door to the projection room. Testing the door will show it's unlocked. If she listens, there seems to be no noises coming from inside.

Enter?]

[quickpersuader]

[Quietly, to Jughead:]

Keep back.

[And once he gives Kino some space, that revolver is unholstered, currently pointed down. Finger over, but not on the trigger.

In we go!]

[doublelammy]

[Millium's here, too, trotting up alongside Nine while munching on popcorn the whole way. With her mouth open, like a goddamn lady. There is going to be so much for the poor staff to clean in here later...]

[linearcrash]

[ S'up. He calls being Scooby for this group pesky kids investigating. Hi Kino. Hi Jughead.]

Hey, see anything?

[snideper]

[just kinda looming awkwardly in the back of the group with her weapon at the ready because like, no she has no idea what this is or what's going on, but do you think she's gonna interact with people at large?? you think she's gonna do anything but uncomfortably stalk behind them???? nah]

[doublelammy]

[Blink. Blink.]

...

Welp. Least Sarge gave us popcorn this time?

[She stands up a little more carefully, taking a handful of popcorn and shoveling it into her mouth as she cradles the bucket in her other arm and makes her way over to Nine.]

Prolly weird Sarge stuff. Hiya, Nine.

[linearcrash]

Does he always pull shit like this?

[ If so, he might have to go yell at him. Wiping the buttery stuff on to his pants as he walks over to her. ]

Come on, let's figure out what the hell is happening.

[doublelammy]

I mean, he brought us here at all, didn't he? [Munch munch. Hope this popcorn isn't poisoned, because if it is, wow, she hecka dead.]

Sounds like a plan to me.

[Millium has joined your party!]

[linearcrash]

[ RIP Millium. ]

Huh? Oh yeah...

[ He does have a whole lot of power. ]

Start with that room in the back?

[ Asking, while heading back there. Time to investigate the room. ]

[cartesio]

[Sounds like a plan!]

[kingbomber]

...You're not asking me this, are you?

[ He looks kind of... you know, irritated as usual, but that's par for the course. He's also really tense, but no surprise here. ]

[linearcrash]

No, I'm asking the popcorn. What the hell do you think?

[ Sarge, why this. Why put them together? Wiping the butter off on his pants and then heading to the screen to investigate. ]

[kingbomber]

[ Because Sergeant wants them to suffer. ]

I'm not the one asking stupid ass questions.

[ He looks pissy and reluctantly comes along to try to...investigate this. Whatever the fuck is going on here. ]

[linearcrash]

How the hell am I supposed to know if you know or not without asking?

[ This is helping. But at least it's all just bitching and not... actually trying to get in his face again. ]

[clearities]

I don't know, but if there's popcorn... maybe this is the cinema I heard about?

[linearcrash]

I'll have to take your word for it, yo. [ He's never been. ]

You alright?

[ Asking, while he starts peeking under seats to see if there's something there. Hidden cameras? Monsters? ]

[clearities]

I'm unhurt, at least. I don't seem to sense any other magic besides everyone else here... we probably should at least stick together, just in case. Um... you're okay too, right?

Just a little buttery. [ Wiggles butter covered fingers up. ]

Don't sweat it.

[ And there's just chewing gum under there. Huh. ]

[There's a lot of chewing gum. Cartesio may be many things, but they don't seem to be very civil when it's about chewing gum etiquette]
